Many cancer patients are told the food they eat has nothing to do with cancer and just to eat a balanced diet. Unfortunately this is not so and there is ample evidence to say what you put in your mouth can have a major influence on the outcome of cancer. A survey of doctors fresh out of medical school revealed that half had less than 1 week’s tuition on food as it is related to our health and the other half had none.
“We are what we eat,” or the food ...

Overview
Recurrent kidney cancer is cancer that has recurred (come back) after it has been treated. The cancer may come back many years after initial treatment, in the kidney or in other parts of the body, such as the lungs or bones.
Recurrent renal cell cancers are typically treated with systemic therapy, and local therapy in some cases. Systemic therapy refers to whole-body therapy, includes targeted therapies such as Sutent® (sunitinib), Nexavar® (sorafenib), and Torisel® (temsirolimus). In addition, some patients may benefit from local therapy consisting of surgery to remove metastatic cancer ...

What Is Interleukin-2?
Interleukin-2 is the only drug approved in the US for the treatment of metastatic RCC. It is also approved in many other countries. But IL-2 isn’t just a drug. IL-2 is a natural part of your immune system, a messenger protein called a cytokine which activates parts of your immune system. IL-2 does not kill tumor cells directly like classical chemotherapy. Instead, IL-2 activates and stimulates the growth of immune cells, most importantly T-Cells, but also Natural Killer Cells (NK Cells), both of which are capable of destroying ...

A randomized trial that studied the impact of the new vitespen vaccine, administered after surgery for kidney cancer, failed to demonstrate an increase in recurrence-free survival (RFS). More research is needed, according to the study authors, in order to know whether the vaccine can increase RFS if given to patients during the early stages of the disease. Results of the study – conducted by Dr Christopher Wood (M D Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA) and colleagues – will be published in The Lancet and have been published early online.

Most experts believe that the human body is composed of numerous cancer cells however cancer won’t develop unless triggered. The inevitable side-effects of chemotherapy
Over the past few years, new medical breakthroughs have emerged claiming to be the effective treatment for cancer. Unfortunately, ...
