A randomized trial that studied the impact of the new vitespen vaccine, administered after surgery for kidney cancer, failed to demonstrate an increase in recurrence-free survival (RFS). More research is needed, according to the study authors, in order to know whether the vaccine can increase RFS if given to patients during the early stages of the disease. Cancer hits families hard.
Over the past 3 years I have lost 6 family members to cancer.
· One uncle died from colon cancer.
· One aunt died from colon cancer.
· One uncle died from brain cancer.
· One uncle died from liver cancer.
· My step-mother died of pancreatic cancer.
· My father died of kidney failure.
That’s a lot of funerals, and a lot of pain.
Does it have to be this way?
